We are proud to announce that IMPACTT Director Dr. Kathy McCoy is now a member of the Royal Canadian Society!

Dr. McCoy is an internationally recognized leader in the field of microbiome and health research. She has made fundamental discoveries highlighting how the maternal and early life microbiome instructs the development of the immune system. Her basic science research has also been instrumental in defining the mechanisms by which the microbiome regulates immune responsiveness during cancer immunotherapy.

Visit Dr. McCoy’s website for details on her current research programs, and read more about her academic journey in her interview.

This is the second time that Dr. McCoy’s worldwide contributions to the fields of immunology, microbiome, and health sciences are being recognized this year. In July 2021, she received the Killam award, the highest recognition of the University of Calgary.
