Learn About the CEGIIR: Biobank of Human Samples

The CEGIIR is a collection of human samples available to the research community. IMPACTT is leveraging the CEGIIR repository by helping researchers to access it. Dr. Madsen, Director of the CEGIIR Biobank is providing her support by informing the research community about the many samples available, guiding and assisting the researchers to obtain relevant samples.

The CEGIIR, Creation & Content, a brief overview

In 2008, the Center of Excellence for Gastrointestinal Inflammation and Immunity Research (CEGIIR) established the CEGIIR Biobank, a collection of diverse samples collected for research purposes. Currently, the CEGIIR biobank contains over 80,000 biospecimens (DNA, biopsies, blood, urine, stool) collected from over 5,000 adults. In addition, environmental information was also collected such as DOB, ethnicity, familial disease, smoking, alcohol history, reproductive history, medical chart review, and more!
